NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party offers Congress one seat in Delhi in the Lok Sabha elections. In Delhi, which has a total of seven Lok Sabha constituencies, the Aam Aadmi Party will contest in six seats and the Congress in one seat as part of the INDIA alliance.
"Congress does not deserve a single seat in Delhi on merit. However, considering the 'alliance's dharma', we are offering one seat to Congress. Congress party will contest one seat and AAP six seats.' - said AAP MP Sandeep.
BJP had won all seven seats in Delhi in 2019. However, AAP is not considering giving any seat to Congress outside Delhi on the grounds of front courtesy. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal announced the other day that he will contest all 13 seats in Punjab alone.
Discussions are going on between the two parties regarding the division of seats in Punjab and Delhi in the Lok Sabha elections. However, AAP does not agree with giving up seats to Congress for state units. The state elements argue that giving away seats to the Congress will destroy its chances of victory.
