PARIYARAM: Kannur District Congress Committee has handed over 'Sneha Soudham' to the family of the late Congress leader Satheesan Patcheni. The keys of the house were presented by KPCC President K Sudhakaran to Satheesan's wife Reena and son Jawaharlal Nehru.

A three-thousand-square-feet house was constructed in Ammanpara near Pariyaram. Patcheni sold his original house to build a party headquarters in Kannur.

Previously, funds raised for building houses were often diverted for party purposes. Patcheni, who worked in an insurance company, struggled with living costs towards his final days. Following his demise, it was revealed that he did not own a home and his family comprising his wife and two children, lived in a rented house.

Valued at Rs 85 lakh, the house was announced by KPCC President K Sudhakaran to be built for Patcheni's family. Constructed within a year, the 'Sneha Soudham' was a collaborative effort involving Congress workers, leaders, service organizations such as KSSPA, and expatriates. DCC President Adv. Martin George expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the construction.
