THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Samyukt Kisan Morcha's Gramin Bharat Bandh will be held today from 6 am to 4 pm. Demonstrations will be held in Kerala showing moral support to Bandh. Shops, commercial establishments and offices will function. The bandh will not affect the transport system in the state. M Vijayakumar, the Samara Samiti Coordination Chairman, said that the decision is to hold a demonstration and dharna in the district centres and a protest dharna in front of Raj Bhavan from ten in the morning. CPM has extended moral support to the bandh in Delhi.
Shops will function
SS Manoj, state president of the Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi, said that traders would provide moral support to the farmers' strike. However, shops and markets will function on Friday. He also said that the organization is trying hard to free the traders from the strike mode of closing the shops.
