MALAPPURAM: Along with traditional campaign activities, political parties are preparing to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections through social media in the state. A special campaign will be conducted on Facebook and Instagram to engage Newgen voters. Messages will also be sent through WhatsApp. Adversaries' allegations will be defended with facts and figures. The help of professional teams will also be sought to fuel the campaign.
BJP is now ahead in preparations. 20,000 booths have appointed social media conveners. A team consisting of five members in constituencies and ten members in Lok Sabha constituencies has also been set up. There is a special team divided into four zones namely Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kozhikode. They will forward the content prepared by the state team to the party groups and ensure the campaign. Modi government's governance achievements will also be disseminated.
CPM, which has a large number of followers on Instagram and Facebook, will sharpen the existing cyber-warriors. At least one employee will ensure IT training in every booth. Youth and expatriate organizations are also the backbone of social media campaigns. Activists will be ensured presence in major WhatsApp groups of each region. Criticisms against the government and the party will be defended. The achievements of the government will be highlighted.
KPCC has set up a 25-member state team under Digital Media Cell. Three people will be selected and trained in each ward. Social Media Task Force on District and Constituency basis will be formed in Lok Sabha Constituency as well. Better content will be prepared in collaboration with the Party's Research and Policy Department. Negative campaigns against sitting MPs will be countered by highlighting facts. The anti-people policies of the state and central governments will be exposed.
