NEW DELHI: BJP state president K Surendran has decided not to contest in the upcoming LS polls. Surendran cited personal reasons for opting out of the elections. However, the central leadership is yet to approve of the decision. Surendran reached Thiruvananthapuram to attend the BJP's National Council meeting while he revealed the decision.

Surendran said that the NDA candidates for LS polls would be announced even before that of LDF and UDF. There is a special team divided into four zones namely Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kozhikode. They will forward the content prepared by the state team to the party groups and ensure that the campaign works smartly. The achievements of the Modi government will also be publicized.

“For every constituency, three candidates are being considered as of now, and just after the completion of the National Council meeting, the final list will be forwarded to Delhi,” Surendran said.

Surendran nurtured hope in Kerala opting for BJP this time and said that the slogan “Modi Ki guarantee” has already hit the right chords with the public.

Surendran, who contested from Pathanamthitta last time, secured 295627 votes and came third.
