BHOPAL: A pregnant woman, who came to settle a sexual assault case against her husband, was gang-raped and set ablaze by a three-member gang. The horrific incident took place in Chandpura village in Morena district in Madhya Pradesh. The woman who sustained 80% burns is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Gwalior.
The woman had come to the house of the survivor in Chandpur to settle the sexual assault case against her husband. However, three men who were in the house of the survivor attacked her and gang-raped her. Even though the woman tried to run away from the house, she was surrounded by the inmates of the house, including a woman, and set ablaze.
The police have received a video of the woman narrating the incident. The woman narrated the incident while she was being rushed to the hospital. It was the woman's husband who handed over the video to the police. He is currently out on bail in the sexual assault case. The woman's statement has been recorded before the magistrate. The police said that a probe is underway and the accused will be arrested soon.
