MANANTHAVADI: Governor Arif Muhammad Khan visited the house of Ajeesh in Padamala, who died in wild elephant attack and met with Ajeesh's family members. He will also visit the houses of VP Paul, who was killed in wild elephant attack and Sarath, who was injured in another wild elephant attack. Additionally, he plans to visit the house of Prajeesh who was killed in tiger attack. After meeting religious leaders at Mananthavadi Bishops House, the Governor will return to Thiruvananthapuram by air. He arrived in Wayanad last night.
During his visit to Wayanad, SFI activists showed a black flag to the Governor upon his arrival in Kannur yesterday. The incident occurred when he got off from the plane at Mattannur and began his journey to Wayanad. The SFI members who displayed the black flag were detained by the police.
DYFI activists halted the vehicle and let them down leading to a tense situation. A confrontation between the police and the DYFI activists ensued. SFI also alleged that the district secretary was assaulted by the police during the protest.
