IDUKKI: Law students are threatening to commit suicide after climbing on top of the college building. The students of Thodupuzha Co-operative Law College are raising threats that they will commit suicide. More than 30 students of the college are standing on the third floor of the college building.
The suicide threat is in protest against the move to suspend the students who protested in connection with the awarding of marks in the college. The protest has been going on for more than an hour. There are boys and girls in the group. Two fire brigade units are providing security with nets. The college authorities are in the process of persuading the students and bringing them down.
The students of the fourth semester are protesting. They are alleging that the college authorities have manipulated the first-semester exam for a student. Students had protested yesterday also regarding this. Later, seven people who led the strike were suspended. Other students climbed on top of the building to protest against this, and are threatening to commit suicide.
The students are adamant in their demand for the resignation of the principal who did the mark manipulation and withdrawal of the suspension process. Discussions were held with Thodupuzha DySP to resolve the problem but no result was seen.
