THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The psychologist's legal battle has yielded results in the case of defamation by hacking his Facebook account and spreading obscene pictures. Following the court order, the Facebook authorities handed over the hacker's personal information to the investigation team. The investigation team is hopeful that the accused will be caught soon as the information including the IP address has been received.

This is the first time in the country that Facebook is sharing personal information. The police submitted the information sent to the cyber cell through e-mail in the court. The police will inform the court about the accused when the case is heard again next week.

Kala Mohan, a psychologist, was the victim of a cyber attack. Kalamohan is waiting to know the accused. It was when the Thiruvananthapuram CJM court heard the case registered by the cyber cell that Facebook was asked to provide the documents. At the first stage, the police asked for information, but Facebook did not provide it. APP Praveen Kumar argued that Facebook does not have the authority to say it will not provide the documents.

The information was transferred at high speed while the prosecution case was being considered by the court. Meanwhile, the High Court has temporarily stayed the court proceedings against WhatsApp, a sister company of Facebook, in the case of defamation of a housewife in Kilimanoor through WhatsApp. Both cases are heard by the same court.

It is the need of the hour for everyone to react against cyber attacks.
