VYTHIRI: The relatives of Siddharth (21), a second-year BVSC student of Pookode Veterinary University found hanging in the hostel washroom inside the university campus, has alleged mystery.
Siddharthan is the son of Jayaprakash and Sheeba, of Pavithram House in Nedumangad's Korakode in Thiruvananthapuram. The incident happened last Sunday.
It is alleged that Siddharth was beaten up by some people the day before his death due to an incident on the campus on Valentine's Day. There were bruises on the body. Relatives also say that a trial was held in public. Siddharth, who returned home to Thiruvananthapuram, was forcibly called back to the hostel. When he reached Ernakulam, he called home and said that he was going back to the hostel. The next thing to hear is the news of death. The relatives alleged that the student was brutally beaten up with a pre-planned plan. The relatives filed a complaint with the Chief Minister, DGP, Human Rights Commission and Wayanad Police Chief demanding an investigation.
Vythiri police have registered a case of unnatural death and started investigation.
The forensic department conducted an inspection in the hostel room where Siddharth was staying.
