NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicates Sudarshan Setu, the country's longest cable bridge, to the nation. This engineering marvel, built in Gujarat at a cost of over 980 crores, spans 2.32 km, connecting the Okha mainland and Beit Dwarka Island in the Arabian Sea. The famous Lord Krishna temple in Dwarka will benefit lakhs of devotees who previously reached the temple by boat. With verses from the Bhagavad Gita adorning its sides and images of Lord Krishna on its footpath, the bridge stands as a symbol of cultural significance.

The project, with a total length of 4.77 km and a width of 27.20 meters, includes a 2.45 km approach road. Featuring a central double span cable-stayed section measuring 900 meters, the bridge also boasts solar panels atop its walkway adding an eco-friendly touch. During the inauguration ceremony, Gujarat Governor Acharya Dev Vrat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and MP CR Patil join Prime Minister Modi in celebrating this significant milestone. Narendra Modi hails the bridge's completion as a pivotal moment in Gujarat's development expecting it to stimulate tourism and enhance connectivity in the region.
