ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani woman who visited a café in the city of Lahore had to survive a heinous mob attack, as the locals mistook the Arabic quotes in her dress to be that of Quran verses. The woman was in the cafe along with her husband when the angry mob screamed blasphemy at the vogue choice of attire.

The crowd alleged that the Arabic verses on the kurta were from the Quran and that it was disrespectful. A little into the brawl, the mob charged at attacking the woman who was seen shielding her face in sheer shock and restricting her tears. The mob also asked the woman to undress quickly at the location.

Soon, a woman police official had to intervene as she escorted the mob victim to safety amidst booing crowds. Before the police arrived, the woman changed her dress to purdah to not aggravate the tensions.

Meanwhile, in another video that emerged, the woman is seen sitting beside Islamic clerics, while tendering an apology for her naiveté in selecting the dress.

“ I had no intention to disrespect the Quran. Sorry for the offence caused” the woman mentioned.
