Investigation is still going on whether the incident was a terrorist attack. Home Minister G Parameshwara has been directed to visit the spot in person. The explosion at Whitefield was initially thought to be a cooking gas cylinder explosion. However, CCTV footage was obtained during the investigation. The incident took place around 1 pm. The initial report is that it was the object in the bag in the cafe that exploded. Fire and Emergency Director TN Sivashankar informed that it was the bag that was placed behind the woman who was in the cafe with six people that exploded.
