THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has decided to conduct an entrance exam for admission to BSc nursing in the state. It is not clear which agency will conduct the entrance. LBS will be conduct the exams if entrance commissionerate is exempted due to workload.
Kerala Kaumudi had reported on February 13 that the entrance was introduced by the central government two years ago, but it was not implemented in the state and the pressure of private managements. He also wrote a speech on February 15 saying that nursing entrance should not be postponed. Kerala Kaumudi had also pointed out that despite the Indian Nursing Council's directive to conduct the entrance before June 15, Kerala had dragged on.
Private Nursing College Management Association of Kerala President V Saji and Secretary Ayira Sasi welcomed the decision.
