WAYANAD: There was a huge clash in KSU's march to protest the death of Siddharth, second year student of Pookode Veterinary University. Police fired water cannons and tear gas after the march to the Veterinary University turned into a clash.

The police first used water cannons when the activists, who were not ready to disperse during the protest march, jumped over the perimeter wall of the university. Later, when the activists tried to jump over the barricades, the police fired tear gas too.

Seeing the protest turning violent, the police lathi charged the activists. Police fired tear gas more than five times. Many KSU workers were injured in the clash. Stones were pelted at the police. A large police presence is stationed in the area.

Meanwhile, evidence collection was done at the Pookode Veterinary University campus in the presence of the main accused in the case of Siddharth's death. The police conducted evidence collection with the first accused Sinjo Johnson in room number 21 of the hostel and in the courtyard. A team led by Kalpetta DySP TN Sajeev reached the hostel.

The glue gun used for the attack was found in Sinjo's presence. The remand report of the accused arrested in Siddharth's death was released. According to the remand report, Siddharth was brutally beaten up during the mob trial in the hostel.
