cadell-jeansen

Sreelekha IPS, who was the Prison DGP has shared an intriguing experience about Cadell Jeansen Raja, the accused in the Nanthancode astral projection massacre that shocked Kerala. Former DGP Sreelekha revealed the very frightening experience with Cadell through her YouTube channel 'Sasneham Sreelekha'.

"Jeansen had reached jail after being arrested by the police and remanded by the court. While he was lodged in a cell in Thiruvananthapuram District Jail, he tried to kill a cellmate at night. I had not visited him in the prison till then. When we go to jail for something, we don't need to go and see any prisoner although we have to be careful about them. However, I wanted to ask him why he tried to kill his companion.

I told the superintendent to call him into the room but they were all afraid about me seeing Cadell Jeansen alone. Everyone asked if 'this was necessary madam?' but I thought I'd take a look. At first, he did not bother to speak. With that, I asked the other officers who were in the room to go out. They put a big bell in front of me and said "Ma'am, if there is any problem just call and we will be outside" and they left. I started asking Cadell questions. When I asked him why he tried to kill his cellmate, he replied that someone told him to kill him. When asked who said that, the answer was that it was a monster. Apparently, the monster kept telling him to "kill him, kill him".

This is how he described the figure – a black figure with a round head. Slim and tall. On its head hangs two side-curved antennae. The figure has red eyes and white teeth. When it opens its mouth, sharp teeth are visible. It has long nails with blood on the tip. That figure likes me a lot. I was chosen by it. Last night that monster woke me up and said "kill... kill...". As soon as I heard this, I felt that there was something wrong with him. I asked him about his childhood. Cadell laughed at me when I asked him why he killed his father, mother and sister. As I continued to ask questions, his expression suddenly changed. He called me aunty. Then he said, "There is something standing behind you Aunty". Seeing the change in his appearance and voice was overwhelming, but I didn't look back. When I asked who is it, he answered that it was a woman. It is the demon that was with me when the police took me away. Now it is saying kill... kill... Suddenly I rang the bell. Officers came running. I asked them to take him away.

"The police were not interested in portraying Cadell as mentally ill. They think that he killed his parents and sister to get their property," Sreelekha said.

The massacre that took place on April 9, 2017 in the city of Thiruvananthapuram shocked the whole conscience of Kerala. A family of four including Professor Rajathankam, his wife Jean Padma who was a doctor at the General Hospital, their daughter Caroline and their relative Lalita were killed in their own house near Cliff House. Cadell Jeansen Raja who was a member of that same family was behind those murders that shocked the human conscience.

The police charge sheet alleges that Cadell was severely mentally ill and that the massacre was part of astral projection, a practice of sorcery. The police have also submitted a medical report stating that the accused Cadell is not fit to stand trial. He has been charged with murder, arson and tampering with evidence. 92 witnesses and 151 documents have been presented in the charge sheet submitted by investigating officer KE Baiju in connection with the case.

Cadell is now in solitary confinement in Poojappura Central Jail, Thiruvananthapuram. He is occasionally referred to the Oolampara Mental Health Center for treatment as he shows signs of severe mental illness. Born on the day of the Peruman tragedy, Cadell had a peculiar personality from an early age.
