THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, who came to Thiruvananthapuram, for the first time after BJP announced him as the candidate in the same constituency, was received emphatically by supporters.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, who reached the airport at 6:30 pm on Monday was received with slogans and rose petals by supporters. Leaders including BJP state president K. Surendran, senior leader Kummanam Rajasekharan and district president V. V. Rajesh were at the airport to receive him. Hundreds of activists were waiting outside with flowers and shawls shouting slogans.

NDA leaders Vishnupuram Chandrasekharan, BDJS State General Secretary Rajesh, and Shiv Sena District President Attukal Sunil were all in attendance to welcome Thiruvananthapuram’s new BJP candidate. Rajeev Chandrasekhar later did a road show in an open vehicle, accompanied by hundreds of vehicles.

People near Chackai and Palayam rushed to the roadside to get a glimpse of the BJP candidate. Some people were seen cheering while others waved at him. Rajeev Chandrashekar while talking to the media vowed to make Thiruvananthapuram an IT hub, on par with the country’s best, which he said would be Modi’s guarantee.

Rajeev opined that Kerala was lagging in IT development and promised to free the state from such stagnation.
