PATHANAMTHITTA: Housewife who ran to escape the attack of a wild boar fell into a well. The housewife, who had been in the well for a day, was found and rescued yesterday afternoon. Babu's wife Elizabeth Babu (58) was the victim of the accident.
Elizabeth was standing in the field at around four o'clock on Monday evening when the wild boar came running. Terrified, Elizabeth climbed onto a plank that was placed on top of the well of a nearby house. The plank broke and she fell into the well. When Elizabeth went missing, the family and locals started searching. At this time, Elizabeth was lying in a well that was about fifty feet deep with about five feet of water. Although she screamed, no one knew because it was an uninhabited house.
At 2:45 pm yesterday, passers-by heard screams from the well. The natives tried to take her outside but were unsuccessful. The Adoor fire force was informed. Under the leadership of Station Officer Vinod Kumar, Grade Assistant Station Officer Ajikumar and Fire and Rescue Officer Abhilash went down the well and used a net to bring her out. Elizabeth was admitted to Adoor General Hospital.
