THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Temperature is likely to rise up to four degrees today in eight districts of the state on Wednesday. People are advised to exercise caution, wear loose clothing, and drink plenty of water. The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority has warned people not to go out during the afternoon and preferably not to work in the sun. The KSDMA has also warned about serious health problems such as sunstroke, sunburn and dehydration.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the temperature may rise up to 38 degrees in Kollam, Kottayam, Thrissur and Palakkad districts, 37 degrees in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kannur districts and 36 degrees in Kasaragod district. Along with day heat, night temperature is rising in the state. In many places, the night temperature is between 28 degrees and 30 degrees.
