THRISSUR: Congress leader Padmaja Venugopal denied rumors of her joining the BJP. Padmaja took to Facebook to say she never thought that her response to a media query would come out like this.

She also stated that she strongly denies the news of joining the BJP. "I heard that there was news in some media that I am going to BJP. I don't know where this came from. I denied this news when it was asked by a channel. They asked whether I will go in the future and I jokingly said that I can only say about the present and not the future," Padmaja wrote on Facebook.
