Congress is the blood of leader K Karunakaran. The greatest value of a leader is his secularism. Padmaja tried to kill that value. Padmaja had once said that she was 'a daughter born to her father'. However, today when she rejected her father's greatest value of secularism, from now on they will be known as the 'daughter who killed her father.
Padmaja, who said that her party did not consider her, was given the Mukundapuram parliamentary seat in 2004 which the Congress had won continuously since 1989. She was thrice given the party ticket and each time she had lost. She did not win the Thrissur assembly seat, which the Congress had been winning since 1991, 2016 and 2021.
In the meantime, she was made a member of the KPCC executive committee, KPCC General Secretary and a month ago she was made a member of the political affairs committee. She also followed the same path like how the others joined BJP. It is not the leader's daughter who leaves, but the leader's legacy.
Meantime, Muslim League state general secretary P M A Salam said Padmaja Venugopal's entry into the BJP is a 24-hour phenomenon. He clarified that there will be no further discussion. Her service is that she was born as the daughter of K Karunakaran.
