THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary MV Govindan stated that approximately 200 former Congress MLAs and MPs have joined the BJP. He mentioned that he now comprehends Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assertion of securing two digits in Kerala. MV Govindan made these remarks during a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram.

He further noted that since the BJP hasn't won any seats in Kerala, it raises questions about whose seat Modi was referring to. "Three DCC presidents have joined the BJP. Padmaja Venugopal recently campaigned for Pratapan," he added. "These people are now part of the BJP. It's a trend where members of Congress often switch to the BJP. Those familiar with Kerala understand that the BJP won't win any seats."

Govindan emphasized the need to investigate whose seat Modi was alluding to seriously. He mentioned K Sudhakaran, the president of KPCC, as someone who hasn't ruled out the possibility of joining the BJP. Govindan also responded to the news that CPM leader S Rajendran will join the BJP in Idukki. "I've spoken to Rajendran. Once his term ends, will convince him to work with the party," Govindan concluded.
