THRISSUR: Vadakara MP K Muraleedharan has emerged as a surprise Congress candidate in the Thrissur constituency in the Lok Sabha elections. The printed posters of the sitting MP TN Prathapan, who started his election campaign in the constituency, have been wasted due to this.

Around three and a half lakh posters were printed for TN Prathapan's election campaign. All this went to waste. The loss is not limited to the poster. Wall writing for the candidate was also done in different parts of the constituency. All this needs to be changed and replaced with Muraleedharan's name.

Thrissur DCC decided to put up posters after the official candidate announcement. Fund was also given for the operation of the booths of the elections.

Padmaja Venugopal left for BJP, and Congress decided to contest her brother Karunakaran's son Muraleedharan in Thrissur. The opinion was put forward by opposition leader VD Satheesan.

Meanwhile, Congress is fielding MLA Shafi Parambil for the seat vacated by Muraleedharan in Vadakara. KK Shailaja is the LDF candidate here. Yuva Morcha leader Praful Krishna is the BJP candidate.
