THRISSUR: The death of two boys who went missing from Shastampuvam Colony is shrouded in mystery. Kuttan's son Saji Kuttan (15) and Rajasekaran's son Arun Kumar (eight) were found dead. It is concluded that Arun Kumar might have fallen from the top and died while climbing a tree to collect honey. Saji Kuttan's body was found 500 meters away from Arun Kumar's dead body. It is concluded that Saji Kuttan died a few days after the death of Arun Kumar.

With this, the death of both children is becoming more mysterious. It is not yet clear why both of them went to the forest. The police have not yet clarified doubts like if the children lost their way in the forest, how the dead bodies came near the colony and how the death took place. A detailed investigation is underway into the incident.

Seven teams of 10 people started searching for the children in the forest today at 6 o'clock in the morning. Arun Kumar's dead body was first recovered from near the colony followed by Saji Kuttan's dead body. Both have been missing since the second of this month. The parents lodged a complaint with the Vellikulangara police after the search at the relative's house and other places where the children might have gone failed. Police, Vellikulangara Pariyaram Forest Range Office and local people searched the forest since yesterday morning but could not find the children. With this, the inspection was conducted today in seven-member teams.

LDF candidate from Thrissur VS Sunil Kumar had come to the colony last day to inquire about the missing children. Then the district administration and the superintendent of police were contacted. SP assured to lead the investigation. The search team was appointed after a meeting at the DYSP office under the chairmanship of Thrissur Rural SP Navneet Sharma.
