MANANTHAVADY: One suffered injuries in a wildlife attack in Payyambally. The injured has been identified as Suku of Adiya Colony in Payyambally. He has been admitted at the Mananthavady Medical College. The incident happened Sunday morning at 6.30 am.
Though the locals said Suku was attacked by a leopard, the forest department has not confirmed it. They reached the spot and conducted an inspection. In the meanwhile, there are reports that a tiger was spotted again at Kottiyoor in Kannur. On getting information, the forest guards reached the spot and conducted a widespread search.
When Joseph of Kandappunam Panikulangara was going home on his two-wheeler, he saw a tiger crossing the hilly highway. Joseph said the tiger ran towards the premises of Mandamcheri Muthappan Temple. Meantime, forest ministers of Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu will hold a meeting in Bandipur today in the wake of increasing wildlife attacks.
