NEW DELHI: Kerala may inform the Supreme Court today that the talks with the central government failed last Friday to overcome the financial crisis. The central position is that it cannot give permission to borrow 19,370 crore more. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing the state government, may bring the issue before the bench headed by Justice Suryakant.

Chief Secretary said that the loan approval of Rs 13,608 crore as informed by the Supreme Court will be given and no additional amount will be allowed. Union Finance Secretary T.V. Somanathan informed the official level team led by V. Venu. Only 20 days left for the end of the financial year. Therefore, Kerala will argue that urgent action is necessary.
