KATTAPPANA: The remains of the newborn baby of the Kattappana double-murder case, who is believed to have been killed and buried in a cow shed, have not been found on the second day either. Today, as part of the search, the floor of the cow shed near the house at Kattapana Sagara Junction was torn down and searched for two and a half hours, but nothing was found. Meanwhile, the chief accused Nitish also put the police in trouble by changing his statement.

Nitish's first statement was that the baby born to the daughter of the murdered Vijayan was killed in 2016 and buried in a cow shed near the house. It is reported that Nitish gave a statement today that he destroyed the body irretrievably when he decided to sell the land. The police interrogated co-accused Vishnu and Vijayan's wife Suma. When they repeated the statement that they hid the body in the cow shed, the police conducted a check again. It is indicated that the inspection will continue in Nitish's presence in the coming days.

The murder of the newborn baby took place in July 2016. According to the police, Nitish's son born to Vijayan's daughter was suffocated to death when he was only five days old. Nitish tied the baby's face with a cloth and suffocated him to death. According to the FIR, it was the murdered Vijayan and his son Vishnu who held the baby by the leg and hand. Vishnu (29), who is undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College, will be arrested as soon as he leaves the hospital. Vishnu's mother Suma (56) will also be arrested soon. The body of Vishnu's father, Vijayan, was found after tearing down the floor of a rented house in Kakkattukada on Sunday.
