UDF has gainced confidence after the arrival of K Sudhakaran, putting an end to rumours. CPM has fielded District Secretary MV Jayarajan, who defended the Kannur fortress in the local and assembly elections after the loss in the last Lok Sabha elections.

Former Congress leader and NDA candidate C Raghunath, who entered the competition with an eye on the anti-incumbency vote and the Congress vote in the state, says that he is not fighting to increase vote share but to win. Political Kerala is keenly watching the battle happening on the stronghold of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, KPCC President K Sudhakaran and CPM State Secretary MV Govindan. All the three front candidates made their position clear.

CPM is holding umbrella for BJP: Sudhakaran (UDF)

While all the secular movements at the national level are embracing the Congress's earnestness to end the continued rule of the Sangh Parivar, the Left in Kerala is turning its back. CPM is not an opponent of Sangh Parivar. RSS proposes to switch Congress votes in Kerala. CPM has become the umbrella bearer of such machinations. CPM will be the most happy if workers from Congress go to BJP. In most places, the BJP is offering their votes to the CPM. They will take CPM's help in some constituencies that BJP has an eye for and this is the RSS strategy.

Development of rural roads in constituencies was mainly implemented during the previous administration. Critical interventions were made in Kannur airport and railway development. People know the importance of Congress victory for the future of the country. People are waiting to give their verdict against the misrule in Kerala.

A chance to make amends: Jayarajan (LDF)

The situation of Kerala has changed from the one in 2019. People expected Rahul Gandhi to become the Prime Minister in 2019. The propaganda that the Left will be behind Rahul influenced the secular minds and the minority voters. People who have understood the work of UDF MPs including Rahul Gandhi in Parliament in the last five years have understood what happened. They did nothing for Kerala. They did not lift a finger for the country's secularism. They supported BJP in many ways. Their leaders flocked to BJP. People have realized that Congress cannot be trusted. In all the polls held after 2019, the Left has the upper hand. There has been no presence of an MP in the Kannur constituency for the past five years. The presence in Parliament is also nominal. This has been a matter of debate. How can people vote for someone who supports communalists and keeps repeating that he will go to BJP when he is KPCC president?

Kerala government is the courier agent of Central Government: Raghunath (BJP)

It is clear from the first phase of the campaign that there is strong support from the younger generation. This election is an opportunity to implement Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guarantee in Kerala. There is a favourable situation to win here. Modi effect will work. Congress is dirty like stagnant water. The League on the UDF front will soon move to the left. No new leadership is emerging in Congress. There are no new faces in the competition. K. Sudhakaran, who said that he was not interested in national politics and would not contest, was made a candidate by force. Why is Sudhakaran who said that he will not contest contesting now? He can be seen only as a failed MP. CPM has become a tent of corruption. People have no hope in them either. No salary and no pension. Government of Kerala is only the courier agent to deliver central funds to the people. People's dissatisfaction with LDF-UDF fronts will be good for BJP.
