NEW DELHI: Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that those who are over 85 years of age can vote from home. He also stated that more than 40 percent of physically challenged people will also be given the facility to vote from home. Such voters can apply to the concerned authorities. After that, the officials will come to the house and register the vote.
Rajiv Kumar said that facilities like drinking water and toilets will be provided in the polling booths. "Children should not be used for propaganda and hate speech should not be practiced. Celebrity campaigners should stay within the limits. Online transactions and social media will be monitored," he said.
There are 97 crore voters in the country. There are 1.8 crore first-time voters. Out of this, 85 lakh are female voters. There are 49.7 crore male voters. There are 10.5 lakh polling booths. Details of the candidates can be known through the KYC app.
