THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Attempts for back door appointments in Mobile Veterinary Unit and Surgery Unit to be started for doorstep services in Animal Husbandry Department. Although applications were invited last day for temporary appointment to the posts of Veterinary Doctor, Driver cum Attendant, those who have registered their name in the employment will not be considered.

Hundreds of BVSC graduates have registered their names in professional employment exchanges in the state. The rule says that those whose names are registered in the Employment Exchange shall be considered based on seniority for temporary appointments. However, the notification is to apply directly to the Animal Husbandry Department. It is alleged that this is for backdoor appointments.

184 BVSC graduates are required for Mobile Veterinary Unit, Mobile Surgery Unit and Call Center. 168 Vacancies for the post of Driver Cum Attendant. The application for the post should be submitted online through the website of the Department of Animal Husbandry or Center for Management Development. The last date to submit application is April 9.

The Animal Husbandry Department is the only one not aware of this when the heads of various departments give instructions to avoid temporary employees and appoint people from employment. Two months ago, the Principal Director of the LSG Department had ordered that the temporary employees working in the Gram Panchayats should be dismissed and candidates from employment should be appointed based on seniority.

In January, KSRTC invited applications for 600 Driver-cum-Conductor posts in Swift but did not consider those who had registered their names in employment and were waiting, which was controversial.
