KOZHIKODE: Mujeeb Rahman (48), the accused who drowned to death Anu (26) alias Meethal Ambika of Valur Kurunkudi, is the accused in a rape case that happened earlier in Mukkam Mutheri. He escaped after leaving the fully naked old woman, whose limbs were tied with cable wires. There was no clue about the suspect. The suspect was caught in a 12-day loophole-blocking investigation by a special team under the supervision of the then Thamarassery DySP Ashraf Thengilakandi. The accused had robbed the elderly woman's one sovereign gold necklace, earrings, mobile phone and a bag containing Rs.5000.
