CHENNAI: AIADMK election manifesto states that it will address the Mullaperiyar issue if it comes to power. The manifesto, released by party general secretary Edappadi Palanisamy, includes 113 promises such as establishing AIIMS and conducting NEET exams in Coimbatore and Madurai.
Additionally, it mentions extending the Mahatma Gandhi Employment Guarantee Scheme to 150 days with wages set at Rs 450. Other proposals include building an international cricket stadium in Coimbatore, increasing subsidies to Rs 5 lakh in the Prime Minister's housing scheme, advocating for the extension of the Chennai Metro to Chengalpattu, constructing a new airport in Ramanathapuram and holding the Lok Sabha winter session in Chennai.
The manifesto also suggests consulting the state government when appointing the governor, abandoning the renaming of the criminal procedure code, urging the central government to introduce an alternative examination system to NEET and establishing IIT and IIM in Madurai. It proposes providing 6 free gas cylinders per year through the family card system. However, DMK leaders argue that these promises are repetitions from previous elections.
