The money has been sanctioned with only a week to go before the end of the financial year. There is concern about whether the money will be available by then. All bills received in treasuries till March 19 will be paid. 1211 crores will be distributed.
Heads of Departments and Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) should submit bills and checks before 5 pm of the 25th. The money will be tokenized and given on a priority basis. Challan payments will be accepted till the 30th of this month.
The Finance Department has issued an order to deposit the own funds of the local bodies in the treasury to bring maximum money to the treasury. The own fund is the money received as building tax and permit fee. The Finance Department had issued circulars twice. The new circular is in the circumstances where own funds are still in the banks.
The project bills of departments, autonomous bodies and local bodies received from today will be transferred to the treasury queue system. Bills will be tokenized according to the date and time of submission and will be passed according to this priority.
Bills that cannot be passed this month will be carried over to next year's spending and will be passed on a priority basis. The same criteria will be followed for cheques as well. Bills arrive in bulk at the end of the financial year to avoid wasting the money allocated in the budget.
