sunita-

NEW DELHI: Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Arvind Kejriwal, came to meet Kejriwal who is in ED custody in the liquor case at 7 pm. She came with a bag containing food along with her helper. Reports are strong that Sunitha will get a crucial position in the Aam Aadmi Party. Sunitha, a 1993 batch IRS officer, took voluntary retirement in July 2016 while serving as Commissioner of Income Tax and joined the busyness of family life.

Sunita met Kejriwal who was an IRS officer in 1995 at a training camp in Bhopal. Both of them got married later. Even when Kejriwal decided to quit his job and join the fight against corruption, Sunita stood by him. Sunitha was Kejriwal's shadow in party campaigns and victory celebrations. Even now when Kejriwal is in ED custody, it is Sunita who is delivering his messages to the people.

Protests and burning of effigies

Aam Aadmi workers held a candlelight vigil in Delhi yesterday to protest against the arrest. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's effigy was burnt. Activists protested the deployment of security forces in front of Aam Aadmi MLA Dilip K Pandey's office in Timarpur. They also alleged that the office was sealed. They questioned BJP's silence on the allegations made regarding the electoral bond.

Investigation about others

There are indications that the ED will summon more Aam Aadmi leaders. A search was conducted at the Hyderabad Madhapur residence of M Akhila, sister of K Kavita's husband DR Anil, who was arrested in Telangana. It is being investigated whether Akhila's daughter's husband, Saran, is involved in the black money transaction through the shell companies of liquor policy.
