THRISSUR: A woman and a middle-aged man, who went missing ten days ago, were found dead in Olakara forest area here. The dead bodies were identified as Vinod (52) of Kudumikal House in Kizhakkancherry and Sindhu (35) hailing from Kodumbala Adivasi Colony.

Vinod's body was hanging from a tree and Sindhu's body was lying on the ground. Both have been missing since March 27. The bodies were found today during a search conducted with the help of the dog squad. The initial assessment of the police is that Vinod may have committed suicide after killing Sindhu.


The tower location of their mobile phone was identified in Olakara forest area during the inspection conducted by the police with the help of cyber cell. The investigation was then extended to the forest. Later, the body was found with the help of specially trained cadaver police dogs Maya and Murphy brought from Ernakulam and a police dog named Harley brought from Palakkad.

The dead bodies were shifted to Thrissur Medical College under the leadership of Peechi Police. Police said that Vinod and Sindhu were close and both were married to different people and have children. Alathur DySP AK Viswanathan, Vadakkancherry CI KP Benny, Alathur CI TN Unnikrishnan, Kottayi CI KG Gopakumar, Vadakancherry SIs Jeeshmon Varghese, P Babu, Cyber Cell Section Civil Police Officer P Vinu, Crime Squad Members Rinu Mohan, K Dileep, U Suraj Babu, Krishnadas , Blessan Jose, Al Ameen and others led the investigation.
