THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 86 nomination papers were rejected in the state during the scrutiny of nomination papers for the Lok Sabha elections. Nomination papers of 204 people were accepted after the scrutinization was completed.
Nomination papers of namesake candidates of Palakkad LDF candidate A Vijayaraghavan and Kottayam UDF candidate Francis George were also rejected. The nomination paper of the namesake candidate of KK Shailaja, the LDF candidate from Vadakara has been accepted. 290 people had submitted their papers when the submission of nomination papers was completed at 3 pm on Thursday.
The deadline for the withdrawal of papers ends on Monday. With this, the final candidate list will be formed. Kottayam has the most candidates - 14.

The final voter list for the polls has been released. Total 2,77,49,159 voters. 2,01,417 people were eliminated in the updation. 6.49 lakh voters were newly registered. The number of 18-19-year-old maiden voters is 5,34,394. The additions and omissions were made in the list published on January 22. Those who could not add their names were given an opportunity to submit their application till March 25.
Out of total voters 1,43,33,499 are women and 1,34,15293 are men. There has been an increase of 3,36,770 female voters and 3,36,770 male voters. The total number of heterosexual voters is 367. The female-to-male ratio is 1,000. : 1,068.
Malappuram district has the most voters (33,93,884), Wayanad has the least voters (6,35,930), Malappuram district has more female voters (16,97,132), Thiruvananthapuram district has more heterosexual voters (94), total non-resident voters 89,839, Kozhikode district has more non-resident voters ( 35,793). There are 6,27,045 voters above the age of 80 years.
