PATHANAMTHITTA: Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy's daughter, Achu Oommen, criticized the state government and the CPM, stating during UDF candidate Anto Antony's campaign in Mallapally that the CPM resorts to violence when it anticipates defeat. Her criticism was in relation to the incident in which a person died while assembling a bomb in Panur, Kannur.
"Why is the CPM making bombs now? They unleash violence when they are certain to lose. How long do we have to endure this politics of violence? How many mothers have lost their children? When you mention the politics of violence, the face of TP Chandrashekhar, whom you killed with 51 cuts on the body, is the first thing that comes to mind. Don't you remember the murders of Kripesh and Sarath Lal? Don't you remember Shukoor's story? Siddharth's murder at Pookode Veterinary College is a continuation of the series of mob trials," Achu Oommen said.
"Anti-people governments are ruling Kerala and the Centre. It is difficult for the common man to live in Kerala. No salary, no pension, rising cost of essentials, wildlife issues. But there is no shortage of luxury and extravagance of the government. Kerala is in a four lakh crore debt. Where will Kerala go by taking more debt?" Achu Oommen asked.
At the same time, Congress leader K Sudhakaran reacted to the incident in which one person died while making a bomb in Panur. "This is very scary news. Why is the CPM making bombs? This terrorist organization, which makes bombs and practices killing people, is never suitable for a civilized society. This incident indicates that the CPM is preparing for widespread attacks. It is once again clear that the CPM is a terrorist organization and the Home Minister is incompetent. On the threshold of elections, let's not forget that every vote these terrorists get is an incentive for terrorism and bomb-making," KPCC President wrote on Facebook.
