THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Most of those contesting in the Lok Sabha elections have declared assets of more than one crore. In terms of assets, the UDF candidate from Thiruvananthapuram, Dr Shashi Tharoor, is ahead. He has given an affidavit that he has assets worth 56.06 crores.

Tharoor has an investment of Rs 49.31 crore in 19 bank accounts and stock bonds. He also owns a car and real estate and has no debts. Close behind is Tharoor's opponent and Union Minister, NDA candidate Rajiv Chandrasekhar, who has assets of Rs 14.4 crores in immovable assets and Rs 9.25 crores in movable assets such as gold and vehicles.

Another candidate who is leading in assets is the NDA candidate from Thrissur and movie star Suresh Gopi. Suresh Gopi's net worth is 12.66 crores.
Adoor Prakash, the UDF candidate from Attingal, is also a candidate who has declared assets of over ten crores, with total assets of Rs 10.38 crores. K Sudhakaran, KPCC president and UDF candidate from Kannur, has a net worth of 6.99 crores.

UDF candidate from Kottayam, Adv K Francis George, has assets worth Rs 7.5 crore. Thrissur UDF candidate K Muralidharan has assets of 5.26 crores. Abdussamad Samadani, the Muslim League candidate from Ponnani, has assets worth Rs 2.07 crore, while Left candidate KK Shailaja from Vadakara has assets worth Rs 1.56 crore. LDF candidate from Kannur MV Jayarajan (1.44 crores), UDF candidate from Ernakulam Hibi Eden (1.3 crores), UDF candidate from Mavelikkara Kodikunnil Suresh (1.05 crores) are the other millionaire candidates. Alappuzha candidate KC Venugopal has a total net worth of Rs 86.5 lakhs and AM Ariff has Rs 47.16 lakhs net worth.
