THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: This March, rain braced Kerala, but not in the required amount to bring solace from the sweltering heat. However now, IMD has predicted stronger rains in various parts of Kerala on Monday.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, in the next three hours, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts, also accompanied by strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph.
High waves of 0.5 to 1.0 meters with speeds between 5 cm and 20 cm per second are expected on Kerala coast till 11:30 pm on Monday, the National Oceanographic Research Center said.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has informed that there will be no disruption to fishing in Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts.
