WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden has made a shocking revelation that cannibals might have eaten his uncle during the time of the Second World War. According to Biden, a plane in which his uncle was travelling was shot down in an area over New Guinea during the Second World War. He also said that the area was full of cannibals during that time and that his uncle may have fallen victim to those cannibals. Biden made the remarks after visiting a war memorial in Pennsylvania.

"He flew single-engine planes, reconnaissance flights over New Guinea. He had volunteered because someone couldn't make it. He got shot down in an area where there were a lot of cannibals in New Guinea at the time. They never recovered his body. But the government went back, when I went down there, and they checked and found some parts of the plane and the like," Biden told reporters after visiting the granite memorial.

Biden's uncle Second Lieutenant Ambrose Finnegan had served in the US military. In May 1944, the fighter plane in which Ambrose Finnegan travelled crashed off the north coast of New Guinea. Finnegan's body was not recovered from the site of the crash. It is still unclear what happened to him.
