KANNUR: District Collector K Inbasekar informed that repolling is not possible in Kannur Kalliasseri, where a CPM leader cast a false vote while 'voting at home'. The Collector also informed that the vote will be annulled. An incident like this should not happen anywhere. The Collector also stated that action will be taken against those who spread false campaigns in connection with the elections.

Chief Electoral Officer Sanjay Kaul informed that five officials have been suspended in the incident. Special Polling Officer Pournami VV, Polling Assistant Prajin TK, Micro Observer Sheela A, Civil Police Officer Lajeesh P and Videographer Riju Amaljith PP were suspended.

The complaint was raised that a CPM leader voted for a 92-year-old woman in Kalliasseri Parakkadavu in the Kasaragod constituency.
