"LED lights are being installed in the city to brighten up Kochi's night time. This project, which is being implemented by CSML, has a cost of Rs 40 crore. 40400 LED lights are being replaced in different parts of the city and already about 5000 lights have been replaced in 85 roads. NHAI has broken UG cables on National Highway. In NH, some places are dark even though the lights have changed. This will be fixed. Lights are being replaced on major roads in the divisions. There is an existing cable issue.

In the 7 years of warranty, up to 5 years of operation and maintenance is included. Due to this, the financial crisis of the municipality can be reduced. Also, the average amount of electricity bill in previous years is more than one crore rupees. But with the coming of the new scheme, it will be reduced to Rs 29 lakh. In this way, it is possible to save about Rs 9 crore in a year. In addition, the corporation can save Rs 2.5 crore in maintenance expenses in the first five years. If we calculate that, the profit generated by the municipality in a year is Rs 11.5 crore. With the advent of this project, the cost of the project and the profit will be available in the electricity bill.

These lights can be controlled through a group control system, power usage can be analyzed and damage to lights can be detected and immediate action can be taken. We have started the light revolution that will take hold of the city. We are moving forward with less energy use and more light. Kochi will not be old Kochi".
