KOZHIKODE: The survivor in the medical college ICU sexual assault case, has shifted her protest to the roads. Alleging delay in getting the report from right to information, the survivor is protesting on the road in Mananchira. Social activists have also expressed solidarity with the survivor. It is also alleged that the right to information commission has sought a report from the police today in the appeal filed by the survivor.

The protest staged is demanding a copy of the investigation report on her complaint against gynecologist who had given statement. The survivor had filed a complaint to the police alleging that Dr K V Preetha did not register many of the things she said and scientific proofs were not collected and is trying to sabotage the case.

The investigation report given to the commissioner by medical college ACP K Sudarshan was that there is no truth in the complaint. The strike started after a copy of it was not obtained under the Right to Information Act. The survivor approached the information commissioner requesting a copy of the investigation report in July 2023, but the police was not ready to provide the report.

Meantime, the chief minister's office had directed North Region IG K Sethuraman to investigate the complaint of the survivor in the ICU sexual assault case. The report should be submitted within 15 days. Her protests and not handing over the inquiry report should be investigated. The statement of the complainant should be recorded. It has also been directed to give a reply to the complainant on the action taken.
