THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The passenger who attempted to assault the female TTE who questioned him for travelling in the Ladies Compartment has been arrested. The incident took place when the Chennai Mail leaving for Chennai from Thiruvananthapuram passed the Kollam station. The accused was travelling in the ladies compartment. The assault took place when the TTE came and interrogated the issue as someone complained. The passenger, who was asked to move out of the compartment but was unwilling, got into a verbal argument with the TTE. He also tried to take pictures of the TTE on his mobile phone. The RPF arrived at Kayamkulam and arrested the accused.
Another incident is coming to light before the shock of a TTE being pushed to death by a migrant worker from a train has subsided. TTE Vinod Kannan was killed in Thrissur earlier this month. TTE Vinod Kannan was pushed to death from the train by Rajinikantha, a non-state worker at Velappaya near Mulagunnathukavu station. The incident took place around 7 pm in the S11 Coach of 22643 Ernakulam Patna Super Fast.
The accused pushed the TTE out due to a dispute regarding the ticket. The train left without realizing the incident. According to the information of the accompanying passengers, other TTEs arrived and detained the accused. Palakkad Railway Police arrested him afterwards. He had verbally assaulted other passengers after the incident.
