AMARAVATHI: Common people often get shocked when they hear how rich some candidates contesting in the Lok Sabha elections are. However, the property information of a candidate contesting this time shows that what has been seen and heard so far is nothing.
The richest candidate this time is the TDP candidate from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar has assets worth Rs 5785 crore. The asset information was included in the affidavit submitted along with the election nomination paper.
The affidavit also states that he personally has assets of 2448.72 crores. His wife Sri Ratna Koneru has assets of Rs 2343.78 crores crores and their children have assets of Rs 1000 crores. According to Chandrasekhar's affidavit, he has a debt of 1138 crores to JPMorgan Chase Bank in the US.
The TDP decided to give the seat to Pemmasani Chandrasekhar after denying the seat to Galla Jayadev, the sitting MP who won from Guntur in 2014 and 2019 elections. Last time TDP won here by a narrow margin of 4205 votes. Other candidates are Kilari Venkata Rosaiah of YSR Congress and Jankala Ajay Kumar of CPI.
