KOCHI: Renowned filmmaker and actor Renji Panicker has responded to the question of whether he is wishing for the victory of Suresh Gopi, the NDA candidate in Thrissur. Renji Panicker first responded to the question with a burst of laughter.
"It is not a confusing question. I have a clear politics. It is not Suresh Gopi's politics. We all are aware that the nation is going through the ugliest situation. Democracy, of course, finds its own solutions when the system of democracy breaks down or faces a crisis. It happens naturally," Renji Panicker said.
" We all saw after the emergency. At a time when the people of the country did not have this much political awareness, they voted for the existence of democracy. That is how democracy always functions. I am a voter who believes that democracy, with all its limitations and weaknesses, has its own mechanism," Renji Panicker added.
Meanwhile, Suresh Gopi cast his vote at St. George School in Mukkattukara in Thrissur today morning. He came to cast his vote along with his wife Radhika, mother-in-law Indira, and children Gokul, Bhagya and Madhav. BJP workers also accompanied him.
