THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Anil Antony, who left the Congress and joined the BJP, returned home to Thiruvananthapuram yesterday after campaigning for more than a month. Unlike previous times, he came to vote alone today. During the previous elections, Anil used to come to vote along with his father AK Antony and mother. Speaking to the journalists, Anil said that he came to vote alone today as he had to go to Pathanamthitta immediately. When the journalists asked him if he received blessings from his parents, Anil said that he does not discuss politics at his house.
Anil's words
"I believe that I have the blessings of the people of Kerala, especially Pathanamthitta. The NDA is expecting an excellent result. The entire country is witnessing a pro-Modi wave. That will be reflected in each constituency in Kerala. The NDA will record a historic victory. Yesterday, I returned home after campaigning for 50-55 days. I spoke with everyone very happily. I came early to vote today as I have to go to Pathanamthitta. The rest of my family members will come to vote after 10 am. We do not discuss politics at home. I love and respect both my parents. Many people tried to misinterpret what I said. But everyone knows what I said," Anil said.
"There is a huge public sentiment against my opposition candidates in the constituency. I will win by a good margin. I expect to get 400,000 votes," he said.
Earlier, AK Antony had said that Anil Antony should lose in Pathanamthitta. He even said that he would campaign against Anil in Pathanamthitta if his health permits. However, he did not go to Pathanamthitta to campaign for the UDF candidate.
Later, Anil Antony said that senior Congress leaders were like dogs barking at the full moon. This remark had led to a lot of discussions. He also said that he only feels sympathy towards his father.
