high-temperature

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that temperature is likely to rise in various districts in the state from today to April 30. The maximum temperature is predicted to reach 41°C in Palakkad, 40°C in Kollam, 39°C in Thrissur, 38°C in Pathanamthitta, Kozhikode, and Kannur, 37°C in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Malappuram, and Kasargod, and 36°C in Thiruvananthapuram (3-5°C higher than usual), according to the IMD's warning.

Most of these districts, except the hilly areas, are expected to have unpleasant weather from April 26 to 30 due to high temperatures and humid air. The IMD also warned that some areas in Kollam, Thrissur and Palakkad districts are likely to see a heat wave up to April 28.

A heat wave is a situation that calls for extreme caution. Due diligence should be exercised by public and non-governmental institutions. Sunburn and sunstroke are more likely to occur and can lead to death if left untreated.
