sobha-surendran-revelatio

PALAKKAD: While the controversy related to the EP Jayarajan-Prakash Javadekar meeting is heating up, Sobha Surendran, the NDA candidate in Alappuzha, has made yet another revelation. Sobha revealed that nearly seven prominent Congress and CPM leaders in the state had held talks regarding joining the BJP. She said this while speaking to the journalists after casting her vote in Alathur. She also said that Jayarajan was not given any offer to join the BJP.

Sobha Surendran's words
"I have met nearly 7 prominent leaders in Kerala. I have talked with them. This includes leaders from the Congress as well as the CPM. I went ahead with such an action as demanded by the party machinery. That is why it is said that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA will come to the post of Chief Minister of Kerala," Sobha Surendran said.

CPM on the defensive
The CPM, which has been firmly believing that the LDF will make huge strides in the Lok Sabha elections in the state, has found itself on the defensive following Jayarajan's revelation. On Friday morning, Jayarajan confirmed that Javadekar had met him in his son's flat in Thiruvananthapuram. The UDF is using this revelation as a weapon against the CPM and the LDF. Realizing this, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan criticized EP Jayarajan in strong language. CPM state secretary MV Govindan and CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam also joined in the criticism. One will have to wait for the counting of votes to know how the controversy and the subsequent revelation have influenced the voters.
