THRISSUR: BJP thinks that the heavy turnout in the constituency is a positive sign for Suresh Gopi. Till 6 pm, the turnout is 71 percent in Thrissur. This may go above 73 percent in the final count. The Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency witnessed an unprecedented rush since polling began in the morning. The booths were crowded with voters in the early hours.

Guruvayur and Manalur constituencies experienced heavy voter turnout from 8 am. There was a significant rush in the morning in the coastal areas of Chavakkad and Vadanapally. CRPF was deployed in the problematic booths. The polling percentage indicates that the massive campaign of the three fronts has turned into votes.

Meanwhile, the LDF and the UDF are hoping that the high polling percentage will be in their favour. The Left Front reckons that grassroots action and coordination will help them regain Thrissur, which they lost last time. Along with that, the workers and leadership are hoping that the victory will be with Sunil Kumar due to his personal influence. UDF activists believe that K Muraleedharan's candidacy will lead to increased majority.
